The Football League Futsal Cups (Boys and Girls U16)

Sky Blues in the Community, in association with The Football League Trust, are delighted to launch the Kinder +Sport Futsal Cup.

Hailed by The FA as a ‘Catalyst to Change’, futsal has witnessed significant growth throughout England and Wales over recent years, as a sport in its own right, and as a fundamental part of football development in the UK. Therefore, The FLT believe it is essential to introduce a national futsal tournament that offers an additional engagement point with schools.

The Futsal Cup comprises two identical competitions, one for Y10/Y11 Boys, and one for Y10/11 Girls:

  • Schools may enter multiple teams in both the Boys & Girls competitions
  • School’s discretion whether to select players from across both years, or just one

SBitC will run the local competition in the middle of November (dates and times to be confirmed), with the winner progressing onto the regional final in early 2016 at Birmingham Futsal Arena. Should they be successful in that round, they will progress to the national final in Spring 2016, competing against the best schools from around the country.

The Futsal Cup is free to enter for your school, and you may enter as many teams are you wish. The winners from the local tournament will win tickets to watch Coventry City and will be presented their trophy and certificates pitch side before the game.

Should you require any further information, or wish to enter your school into the tournament, please contact Sky Blues in the Community 02476 786 349.
